Message from the Head of CSR

Promoting CSR activities of the Toho Acetylene Group
With the globalization of corporate activities, stakeholder demands for corporate social responsibility (CSR) are increasing, and we recognize that CSR activities are a crucial element in enhancing our corporate value.
Our group has consolidated these principles into the “Toho Acetylene Group CSR Charter” and is collectively dedicated to CSR activities. We are committed to fulfilling our corporate social responsibility and contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.
To facilitate these CSR activities, we have established the “CSR Promotion Committee,” with me serving as the head of CSR to oversee and drive initiatives comprehensively for all stakeholders.
Initiatives to strengthen the foundation of our management
Regarding the environment, under our “Environmental Policy” overseen by the executive officer in charge of environmental safety and quality assurance, we have implemented a system that promotes activities such as reducing the environmental impact associated with our business activities, developing products that contribute to social activities, and engaging in environmental conservation activities in local communities through the cooperation of related departments. Additionally, we prioritize the control of the CO2 emissions generated by our business activities as a key management objective. We strive to reduce emissions to contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society, a societal issue.
In terms of society, we are working to provide a work environment in which employees, our most valuable management resource, can take pride in our company and find fulfillment and satisfaction in their work. By recruiting diverse talent, including women, foreigners, and individuals with various career backgrounds, we actively promote and support their contributions while embracing diverse perspectives. Furthermore, we regularly conduct training on human rights, compliance, harassment, CSR, and other topics throughout the organization to foster a sound organizational culture.
For corporate governance, we have established a system that enhances the effectiveness of supervisory and monitoring functions while ensuring management efficiency, such as by introducing an executive officer system and appointing female outside directors. In terms of compliance, we have established the “Compliance Committee” overseen by the responsible executive officer, to build a group-wide compliance promotion structure and ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and corporate ethics as well as compliance with fair business practices among our group’s officers and employees. Finally, in risk management, we have established the “Risk Management Committee,” under the jurisdiction of the executive officer in charge of risk management, to establish a framework capable of addressing various risks.
The Toho Acetylene Group is committed to advancing CSR activities through environmental, social, and governance perspectives, with the aspiration of being a company valued by society. We appreciate your anticipation for our growth on this journey.
